murmur (by mamonis studio) has zero tolerance for the sexual abuse and exploitation of children. These standards apply to the murmur app (iOS and Android) and to everything posted on murmur (murs, replies, marks, must notes, and photos).
You may not post, share, request, or promote any of the following on murmur:
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This includes text or images that sexualize a child (anyone under 18), grooming, inviting a child to meet for sexual purposes, sextortion, and child trafficking.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), whether it depicts a real child or is drawn or AI-generated.
Content that puts children in danger (for example, exposing where a child is, or encouraging others to target a child).
We remove violating content and suspend the people who post it. We report to the authorities as required by law.
You can report right where you are, without leaving the app.
murs and marks: Open the post from the map or a list, tap the flag button (Report) on its detail screen, choose "Child safety" as the reason, and tap "Send report".
Replies and must notes: Tap the "…" button on the post, choose "Report", choose "Child safety" as the reason, and tap "Send report".
You can also tap "Block" on the same screen to stop seeing that person's posts.
A single "Child safety" report immediately hides the post from the map, Nearby, search, and threads, and puts it at the top of our review queue.
Hide it right away: A post reported for child safety is removed from public view until we review it.
Review and remove: We review the report and remove the post if it violates these standards. For serious violations, we suspend the poster immediately.
Preserve records: We preserve the post and related records, accessible only to our moderators, to the extent needed to report to the authorities and to cooperate with investigations. Our moderators do not download, copy, or forward images.
Report to the authorities: We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the Internet Hotline Center Japan (https://www.internethotline.jp/ ) or the police in Japan, and to NCMEC's CyberTipline (https://report.cybertip.org/ ) or the relevant national hotline (INHOPE: https://inhope.org/ ) outside Japan. If a child is in immediate danger, we contact the police.
Comply with the law: We comply with child safety laws, including Japan's Act on Regulation and Punishment of Acts Relating to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.
You can also contact us here if you want to tell us something from outside the app, even if you do not use murmur. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first (911 in the US, 110 in Japan).
Please do not send the images themselves (sending them may itself be illegal). A description of where and when it was posted is enough.
