About

Odate is known as the home of kiritanpo, and this two-day food festival at the Nipro Hachiko Dome celebrates it in every form. Reaching its 54th edition in 2026, the festival gathers local restaurants and shops inside and around the dome, serving everything from classic kiritanpo hot pot and miso-glazed kiritanpo to creative takes like kiritanpo soup curry and tomato hot pot. Outside, you can grill your own kiritanpo or try Hinai-jidori chicken roasted on the spot, and inside the dome you can make your own piece of Odate magewappa bentwood ware. There are stage shows on both days, and shuttle buses run to the venue from around Odate Station.
