About

Held in late July in Iyo-Mishima, Shikokuchuo, this summer port festival is one of the 50 best festivals of Ehime. A big part of it is the dance contest, where crowds of dancers compete around the station-front shopping street to the beat of the local tune Shikoku Domannaka Ondo. On the last night, fireworks burst over Mishima-Kawanoe Port. Plenty of other events fill the days in between. The festival was started to mark the port's designation as an international trade port. The venues are a short walk from Iyo-Mishima Station, so the train is the easy way to get there.
