About

At the end of each year, the streets around JR Mizunami Station host a dance festival that serves as the year's last big dance for many teams. People of all ages, from students to adults, take part, and teams from across Japan perform energetic routines and parades in bold, inventive costumes. The motto is to send energy from Mizunami to the whole country. It runs over two days, an eve festival and the main day. Eating is half the fun: a Hokkaido products market sells goods shipped straight from the north, Okamisan Yokocho gathers inexpensive tasty stalls, and lots of food trucks line up, so you can snack while you watch. It goes ahead in light snow.

On the day, see what locals are murmuring on the murmur map

murmur is an app that shows short, anonymous posts on a map, right where they were written. On festival day, open the map around the venue and see what people nearby are saying.
