This gathering in Yamanaka Onsen, Kaga, is all about the local folk song Yamanaka-bushi. It takes place on the square in front of the Yamanakaza theatre, with Kikunoyu, the bathhouse where the song was born, right behind it; if it rains, it is due to move into the Yamanakaza hall. Anyone can join in, whether local or visiting, young or old, and you are free to sing your heart out or simply sit back and listen. From Kagaonsen Station, take a sightseeing loop bus or a regular bus to the Yamanaka Onsen Kikunoyu/Yamanakaza stop, and the venue is right there. Enquiries go to Yamanakaza.
