About
During this festival, shops and homes around Tono Station display the hina dolls passed down through their families and invite visitors in to see them. Tono has long had a custom of going from house to house asking to be shown the dolls, and the festival follows that tradition: you stroll through town and meet a different set of dolls in every shop and home. Limited-time lunches and sweets are served for the season, and mizuki-bina decorations are on sale, so it is as much about eating and shopping as sightseeing. Related events include a procession of a flower-decked ox cart and a goshuin stamp tour of the temples and shrines in the town center. It is organized by the Tono Chamber of Commerce, and 2026 marked its 27th edition.
