About
Every year when the irises bloom, the Sadowara area of Miyazaki City holds this festival. At the main venue, the Sadowara History Museum Kakushokan, events run all day. You can sip tea at an outdoor tea ceremony or try on a suit of samurai armour and helmet. Stage events, stalls and a stamp rally are joined by a petting zoo and a mini 4WD race, so families with children can easily make a day of it. There is also "sengu-maki" and Jindai-goma top spinning. The program may change depending on the weather. Parking is available at Kakushokan, Sadowara Elementary School and Sadowara Nursery School.
