About
Fireworks over Tropical Beach in Ginowan Seaside Park, promoted as Japan's earliest big summer fireworks show even though it takes place in spring. Around ten thousand shells are fired in time with music for about an hour, giving Okinawa a head start on summer. In 2026 it was held on April 11, with gates opening at 15:00 and the show planned from 19:00. You need a paid ticket to get in, and seats and parking each require a separate ticket. The show goes on in the rain, but strong wind, heavy rain or high waves can cancel it, and there is no postponement to the following day. Roads and entrances become very congested just before the start, so give yourself plenty of time.
