About
For two days each summer, Chuo-dori, the main avenue linking JR Saga Station with the Saga Castle site, is closed to traffic and taken over by parades and dancers. The 2026 festival was the fifty-fifth. Watch the mikoshi parade, a mass dance by local children, and the grand mass dance in which hordes of residents fill the street, and you'll feel the city's energy up close. It is free to watch and about a 10-minute walk from JR Saga Station. There is no festival parking, so drivers should look for paid lots nearby. Questions go to the office of the Saga Joka Sakae no Kuni Festival Promotion Association.
