About
Fireworks shot from the water off Otsu Port light up Lake Biwa at one of Shiga's largest summer displays. In the finale, gold and silver sparks pour across the lake like waterfalls while underwater starmines burst on the surface. First held in 1984, the show celebrated its fortieth edition in 2026 under a Sengoku-era theme, in two parts: first drones, lasers and fireworks crossing one another, then fireworks telling the stories of warlords and princesses connected with Shiga. Paid seats are available.
