About
On winter evenings, fireworks rise over Lake Kawaguchiko, a seasonal tradition. In the clear winter air, colorful bursts open against a snow-covered Mount Fuji. The shells go up from three places: Oike Park, Tatamiiwa and Yagisaki Park. Shows are held mainly on winter Saturdays and Sundays, each starting at 8 p.m. and lasting only about 20 minutes, so don't be late. Food trucks set up at the main venue, Oike Park, every time. Entry is free and there is free parking. Soaking in a hot spring afterward is a good way to warm up. Shows can be cancelled when a forest fire warning is in effect.
