Each year in the third week of May, when its rapeseed blossoms are at their best, the town of Yokohama in Aomori holds this festival on special grounds in the Mameda district, next to the Shizen-en nature experience area. Events include a marathon, a giant maze cut through the blooming fields, and shows on an outdoor stage. It is a relaxed, family-friendly way to enjoy spring in rural Aomori, surrounded by yellow flowers.
