About
From around mid-September to mid-October, Goshikihime Seaside Park in Iyo City serves imotaki, a satoimo taro hot pot, for people to share by the sea. Sitting around a pot under red paper lanterns with a sea breeze blowing is a well-loved autumn evening ritual in Ehime. The Goshikihama style uses a light broth made with locally made shaved dried fish and dried sardines, plus kamaboko fish cakes in five colors. There is a prize drawing every Sunday. Meals are by reservation for two or more people, and booking by the previous day is slightly cheaper than booking on the day. You can't bring your own drinks, and the venue closes on some days during the local autumn festivals.
