About
Around the time of the Girls' Day doll festival, Takahama Town holds a community-wide hina doll event: shops, homes and local facilities put their prized dolls on show, and residents join in to bring the town to life. Visitors stroll the streets, peeking into storefronts and houses. Some displays are lavish multi-tiered sets, others rare dolls from the Meiji era, and each reflects the care of the people who set it out. On the event day, the local group Takahama Machizukuri Network plans extras such as a costumed hina parade and food sales. It suits anyone who enjoys an unhurried wander around a small town.
