About
On the second weekend of September, Sukagawa celebrates the grand festival of Kitakashiwade Shrine, its guardian shrine. Neighborhood portable shrines burst into the streets, children's shrines follow behind, and the whole town buzzes. The main stage is Taimatsu-dori Street in Nakamachi, about 15 minutes on foot from JR Sukagawa Station or about 10 minutes by car from the Sukagawa IC on the Tohoku Expressway, and parking is available. In 2026 the festival took place on September 12 and 13. Contact the Sukagawa Autumn Festival Executive Committee office for details.
