About
Each autumn, the village of Ueno in Gunma's Tano District holds this festival at a special venue around Villa Seseragi. Stalls sell local produce and specialties, including tochi-mochi (rice cakes made with horse chestnuts), and traditional performing arts and dance take the stage. The thirty-ninth festival in 2025 also featured taiko, farm and forestry produce sales, a magic show and an exchange stage with the Kingdom of Bhutan. The afternoon brings a concert by a guest singer; for the fortieth festival in 2026, Fuji Ayako is scheduled to perform. Inquiries go to the General Affairs Division of the Ueno Village Office.
