About
This spring event at Kanoya Rose Garden in Kanoya City is timed to the peak of the roses. Covering 8 ha with 25,000 rose bushes, the garden is among the largest in Japan, and it holds the Kanoya Rose Festival in both spring and autumn. In spring everything opens at once and you can stroll under arches of climbing roses. Kagoshima's warm weather means full bloom usually comes around Golden Week. While the festival runs there is a food truck fair, a petting zoo and the Osumi Hana Marché, and on weekends there are workshops, rose goods for sale and garden tours. Entry is paid; parking is free.
