About
A Christmas light-up on the shore of Lake Miyagase in winter. The centerpiece is a living fir tree beside the lake, about 30 meters tall and wrapped in roughly 10,000 bulbs. While the lights are on, the 315-meter Mizunosato suspension bridge is outlined in lights too, and you can walk across it at night for a fee. The big fountain and the Mizunosato shopping street are illuminated as well, and a stage program, food stalls, shops and restaurants make it easy to spend an evening. Last time there were also paid balloon rides, by reservation, that lifted visitors above the tree. Getting there: about 60 minutes by bus from Hon-Atsugi Station on the Odakyu Line.
