As evening falls, the harbor at Sakitsu, a fishing settlement in Kawaura, Amakusa, with a church overlooking the water, hosts a festival that ends with fireworks above the port. The grounds run from the Sakitsu Fishing Port Plaza to the Sakitsu Village Guidance Center roadside station, and a market sets up in the parking lot at the back of the roadside station. A free shuttle bus links Kawaura Central Gymnasium with the guidance center on the day, about 15 minutes each way; in 2026 every rider got one 100-yen voucher good at any market stall that day. Questions go to the Sakitsu Harbor Festival Committee, housed in the Tomitsu District Promotion Association. Plan your trip around the fireworks.
