About
In spring, Ise Jingu opens its gagaku court music and bugaku dance to everyone in a festival of thanks to the deities and prayer for the people's peace; a matching festival is held in autumn. On the first day, kagura is performed in the kagura halls of both the Outer and Inner Shrines. Then for 5 days, at 11:00 each morning, bugaku is presented on a special stage in the Inner Shrine garden, moving to the Sanshuden hall in rain. Throughout the festival, renowned schools and families from around Japan offer mai-bayashi, Noh and other performances, so you can take in refined music amid the fresh green of the shrine garden.
