About

Each April, Kojinyama Kannon-ji in the Takatsuka area of Suzuka holds its spring festival, featuring a fire walk. From noon on the first day, a great goma fire is lit before Sanbo Kojin, enshrined in the inner sanctuary, with prayers to the temple's principal image, the Eleven-Faced Kannon, and the fire walk takes place alongside it. The local preservation society also puts on entertainment such as a singing show and a karaoke contest, and the grounds bustle with worshippers. Depending on the year, these events may be cancelled. Suzuka's community bus runs nearby, and the parking lot can take large coaches.
