About
This festival in Kurashiki is a homemade affair, put together with the help of local residents. Besides its well-known citizens' mass dance, there is a parent-and-child play area and plenty more for every age, plus night stalls and food trucks for grazing as you go. It takes place on the street in front of Shin-Kurashiki Station and in the park just south of it, about a five-minute walk from JR Shin-Kurashiki Station, or about ten minutes by car from the Tamashima exit of the Sanyo Expressway. It used to be held in August, but in 2026 it moves to September. Traffic restrictions apply around the venue.
