About
Each summer, Kurashiki Chuo-dori, the main street from Kurashiki Station to the Kurashiki City Art Museum, becomes the stage for this festival. From late afternoon the program moves from the Kurashiki Tenryo Taiko drummers and the Suinkyo performers parading the street, to the unveiling of the year's Kurashiki Komachi, brass band music, and the Daikan-bayashi and "OH! Daikan-bayashi" dances. The venue is right by JR Kurashiki Station, but the street is closed to traffic and there is no visitor parking nearby, so take the train or bus. It goes ahead in light rain. 2026 marked its 53rd edition.
