About
Held right outside JR Taku Station, Taku City's traditional summer festival runs in 2026 on August 15 and August 16 from 17:00 to 22:00. Look for the glittering doll floats making their rounds and the lantern floats that young men team up to assemble. The station front turns into a pedestrian zone lined with stalls, with something for every age. Once night falls, the lit-up floats glow along the street, and the lantern floats are whirled around energetically. On August 16, about 1,000 fireworks go up from 21:00. Watching is free. Parking is scarce, so come by public transport.
