About

Ashino Park in Kanagi, Goshogawara, is listed among Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, and each spring about 1,500 cherry trees bloom here. The signature sight is the "cherry blossom tunnel," where the trees arch over the tracks of the Tsugaru Railway as it runs through the park – a favorite photo spot when a train passes beneath the flowers. During the festival, there are stage shows featuring local folk performing arts, and the blossoms are lit up in the evening. The park is right next to Ashino-Koen Station on the Tsugaru Railway, so arriving by train is part of the fun.
