About
Shiroyama Park, around Shirakawa Komine Castle, celebrates the cherry blossoms with a festival. The first day is all about sake under the trees: local producers, food stalls and food trucks set up, and you can sip local sake from midday into the evening, when the blossoms are lit up. Day two adds a walking event (booking required) and a matchlock gun demonstration by the Kawagoe Domain musketeer preservation group, among other events. The park is only about three minutes on foot from JR Shirakawa Station. The festival is organized by its executive committee at the Shirakawa Tourism and Products Association.
