About
Every autumn, Hitotsubatago Square and the streets around it in the Hirukawa district of Nakatsugawa host a festival of local culture and industry. Its slogan, in the local dialect, roughly means "Let's do it together, let's enjoy it together!", and it has that homegrown, community feel. The square hosts stage events, and there is a display and sale of local vegetables, so you can take some produce home. In the mochi-throwing, rice cakes are tossed out to the crowd. Admission is free, and the Hirukawa Promotion Association organizes and handles inquiries. By car, it is about 30 minutes from the Nakatsugawa interchange on the Chuo Expressway.
