About
Every April 29, a national holiday, Kuramoto-dori in Kure becomes the stage for one of the city's biggest spring festivals. Throughout the day there are stage acts, a bazaar, a parade and plenty more, drawing holiday crowds into the center of town. It costs nothing to attend and there's no age limit, so it's easy to drop by with children. Kuramoto-dori is about 15 minutes on foot from JR Kure Station. The event is coordinated by the Kure Festival Association, which is based inside the Kure Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For Kure, this day is a fixture of spring.
