About
Running since 1935, this spring festival in Onomichi honors Hirayama Kakuzaemon, the town magistrate credited with opening the port, and asks for continued prosperity for the city. The main event is the Eejan SANSA-gari dance contest, which has elementary and junior high school divisions so young teams take part too. Plenty of other events fill out the program, and during the festival the whole city has a holiday feel, making it a nice time to wander Onomichi.
