About
Every July, Izumi spends two days celebrating summer at this festival, which reached its 44th edition in 2026. Day one centers on the Izumi Honmachi-dori shopping street: after an opening ceremony come a costume parade, a race carrying mikoshi shrines and a big dance open to everyone in the city. On day two the festival shifts to the area around the Izumi City multipurpose ground, with a talent show in Wing Dome Izumi and food stalls, and fireworks bring the night to a close. An organizing committee at the Izumi Chamber of Commerce runs it. From JR Izumi Station it is about 5 minutes by car or about 20 minutes on foot. Expect serious heat and plan for it.
