About
An international costume parade held in Yokohama over Golden Week as part of the port festival marking the opening of the port. The horn of the Hikawa Maru gets it going, and the procession leaves Yamashita Park, passes the Yokohama Customs building and the Red Brick Warehouse, and continues through Bashamichi and Isezakicho 1-chome to Isezakicho 6-chome, putting on shows along the 3.4-kilometer route. In 2026 about 60 groups and 2,500 people took part. The kids' parade covers 1.4 kilometers, ending at the Bankoku Bridge intersection. Expect wide road closures around the route on the day.
