About

During Golden Week, the area in front of the arbor at Onidake Park in Goto City comes alive as Baramon kites fill the sky. The mayor opens the event with a greeting, and mini Baramon kites are handed out to visitors. The Goto Kaiyo High School wind ensemble keeps spirits high with brass band music, and Tsubaki Neko, the city's mascot, drops by too. The easiest way to get there is the shuttle bus between the Goto City Library and the Onidake parking lot, which costs a fare and must be booked ahead. In 2026 the event was moved from its original date because rough weather was forecast. Questions can be directed to the Goto City Tourism Association.
