About
In Tokamachi, a town known for kimono, this spring event turns Honcho-dori, Takadamachi-dori and Eki-dori into pedestrian streets. Neighborhood stalls and events line the way, along with occasions that bring kimono close, such as the Jusan-mairi temple visit and a children's procession for the flower festival. The coming-of-age gathering takes place the same day, so young people in furisode and hakama brighten the streets. Just strolling among so many people in kimono is a pleasure. The venue is a short walk from Tokamachi Station, and roads nearby are closed to traffic.
