About
Kusu's Gion festival livens up one summer night in town. Floats and decorated halberd floats gather together and then make their way through the streets around Kyoshin Bridge. The festival area runs from Kyoshin Bridge to the Tsukawaki intersection and is busy from about 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. A children's portable shrine sets off at 3 p.m., and elementary school students perform the Soran dance, giving the event a youthful buzz. Come in the evening to see the floats on their rounds.
