About
Kamo Shrine in the Nagasu district of Usa holds this festival, usually from May 3 to May 5. Floats wind through the district to the 'kon-kon-chikirin' of drums and bells. In 2025, alongside the Kamimachi, Nakamachi and Onishi floats, the Higashihama float took part for the first time in 37 years. The festival plaza offers group dancing, a rice-cake scramble, dance shows, a flea market and food stalls. The festival prays for good health, protection from epidemics and a rich harvest, and is a familiar seasonal event in Nagasu.
