About
Ginowan Seaside Park is the setting for this festival, organized by the Ginowan Hagoromo Festival Executive Committee. Its main draw is the Hagoromo Kachashi contest, where people compete in kachashi dancing, and the stage also hosts a variety of shows. Alongside its festival page, the Ginowan City Tourism Association tells the legend of a celestial maiden linked to Mori-no-Kaa, a spring in Mashiki: a young man hid her feather robe, the two were married, and their son is said to have become Satto, King of Chuzan. Its 49th edition in 2026 was scheduled for September 26 and 27, but with a typhoon approaching, September 27 was called off and only September 26 went ahead. The association acts as the secretariat, and the program can be found on its website.
