About
Onna, a village on Okinawa's main island, holds this two-day autumn festival at the Onna Village Community Plaza. Stalls fill the plaza, and local groups take the stage with dance, music and traditional performing arts. Children can join in bare-handed fish catching for elementary school kids and a fruit grab for little ones. On the second night, the Onna Churaumi Fireworks keep the sky lit for about twenty minutes. In 2026 the festival ran on October 3 and October 4, with the fireworks on October 4 starting at 20:00. Shuttle buses run from temporary parking areas. The festival depends on sponsorship and donations from businesses, organizations and individuals.
