About
Shops all over Shigaraki, the Koka town best known for its tanuki (raccoon dog) figures, set out Shigaraki ware of their choosing for this pottery festival. Participating shops offer discounts and gifts that are only available while it runs. You can browse dishes, vases, planters and umbrella stands, or pick out a tanuki to take home. A stamp rally covering the A, B and C areas leads you around town, past studios where you can try making pottery and restaurants serving meals on Shigaraki ware. The information headquarters is in the Shigaraki Traditional Industry Center, roughly 3 minutes on foot from Shigaraki Station on the Shigaraki Kohgen Railway.
