About
Every November, Tsunomine Shrine on top of Mt. Tsunomine in Anan marks its autumn grand festival over two days. The first morning is given to the main festival rite, and in the late afternoon the Anan Sora Marche market opens. Most of the action comes on day two: the Tassui-ren troupe performs Awa Odori for the deity, there is a rice-cake contest split into children's, women's and men's divisions, and rice cakes are given away free. In the afternoon the portable shrine is carried out in the shinkoshiki procession.
