About

Each year Mino-cho in Miyoshi stages a festival for Miyoshi Nagayoshi, a late-Muromachi warlord who brought the whole Kinai region under his control and held the real power behind the shogunate. Because of that, he is increasingly seen as a ruler of Japan who came before Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Mino-cho is said to be where he was born. The main attraction is a samurai procession bringing Nagayoshi back to life, joined by matchlock demonstrations and other Warring States-themed events. Dance performances and food stalls add a hometown festival feel. The venue is the Mino Gymnasium and its grounds, and there is an eve event too.
