About
Each spring, the rural stage in the grounds of Ono Tenno Shrine, in the hills of Kamiyama, hosts a performance by the Yoriiza troupe. On the bill are Awa ningyo joruri, Tokushima's puppet theater, and fusuma karakuri. The spot is peaceful and green, with the clear Akui River, one of Shikoku's 100 selected natural sites, running nearby, and cherry trees blooming around town. Entry is free, so it is a pleasant way to spend a spring day in the countryside watching old village performing arts.
