About
On July 30 every year, Kano in Shunan holds a summer festival timed with the deity's procession through town. Hadakabo, men in loincloths, attend the ox and the wicker-sided ajiro carriage, and a daimyo procession makes its way along the route, with the Daigyoji and Shogyoji officials and nagamochi chests carried on poles in the line. Take the bus for Core Plaza Kano from JR Tokuyama Station (about 60 minutes), then walk about 10 minutes from the Kano stop.
