About

Over 2 days, Naritasan Shinshoji Temple and the Naritasan Omotesando approach host a taiko festival where drummers from all over Japan show off their skills. It opens with Sengan Hanadaiko, as performers lined up before the Great Main Hall strike their drums together and the sound booms through the temple grounds. Toward evening, the Naritasan Sennen Yobutai presents special performances on a stage lit by bonfires. On the last day, the Senko Banrei parade brings taiko and traditional music from around the world down the Omotesando. Throughout the festival, music continues on special stages along the approach, which is closed to traffic. Entry is free.
