About
On a weekend at the end of May, Echizen Pottery Village in the Ozowara area of Echizen Town hosts Fukui Prefecture's biggest pottery fair, devoted to Echizen ware. Kilns from all over the prefecture set up stalls, so you can compare and pick from a huge range of pieces, new work included, all in one visit to the ware's home ground. There are also traditional crafts, food and a bazaar, and the tea garden at the ceramics museum holds the Satsuki-age tea gathering. Entry is free.
