About
Okawa, a town famous for making furniture, shows off its woodworking skills across town once a year; in 2026 it reaches its seventy-fifth edition. At the main venue, Okawa Industry Hall, about 10,000 pieces of furniture and interior goods are sold at special festival prices, and many booths put you face to face with the makers. Displays of fittings and kumiko lattice by Okawa's master craftsmen are well worth a look. Hands-on sessions around the venues let you assemble a chair with your child or make a folding table, a kumiko coaster or a mini tatami mat. Okawa Central Park becomes a food village with food trucks and stalls, and taiko drumming and other acts take the stage. Entry is free, and free shuttle buses run from Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station during the festival.
