About
This big summer fireworks show at the Honko district of Kagoshima Port is one of the largest in Kyushu. Behind the bursts you see Sakurajima, one of the world's most active volcanoes, and the still water of Kinko Bay, a view you can only get in Kagoshima. It started in 2000 to mark the new millennium. In 2026 it took place on August 29 (Saturday), opening at 19:20 with fireworks from 19:30. Watching is free, and there are also paid seats. After the earthquake in Kumamoto, ticket money for paid seats was refunded to those affected.
