About
An early-spring cherry festival along the Keikyu tracks between Miura-Kaigan Station and Komatsugaike Park, a walk of about 1 km. The route is lined with about 1,000 Kawazu cherry trees, and rapeseed blossoms flower underneath at the same time, so deep pink and bright yellow run the whole way. A local community group has been planting the trees since 1999 to bring energy to the Miura Kaigan area, and the festival dates from 2002. Parking nearby is scarce and the roads jam every year, so come by train: from the station, follow the tracks toward Misakiguchi and the trees lead you to Komatsugaike Park.
