About
Once a year, the kagura hall of Takachiho Shrine presents all 33 dances of Takachiho's yokagura. The regular one-hour evening Takachiho Kagura show features only four representative pieces, but over the two days of this festival the complete set is performed, so you can see dances that are otherwise never shown. The first day is an evening eve festival; on the second, the main festival runs from morning until late at night, and the finishing time shifts with how the program goes. Admission is free and you can come and go as you please, so you can drop in for whatever time you have. The regular evening Takachiho Kagura show takes a break during the festival.
