About
This popular event livens up summer in the Kuka district of Suo-Oshima. The plaza of the Yamaguchi Prefecture Oshima Disaster Prevention Center and the area around the Kuka branch office host the festival, and about 1,500 fireworks burst over the night sky. The draw is the Yume Hanabi, which you can watch from very close by, set to start at 20:30. A food area with stalls, food trucks and a beer garden, plus stage events, brings in big crowds. Traffic is restricted around the venue that day and the launch site is closed off, so watch where the security staff direct you. The Kuka Summer Festival Executive Committee runs the event.
