About

Over three summer days, Honcho-dori in the Omama district of Midori hosts a festival that reached its 397th year in 2026 and will turn 400 in 2029. Day one brings a parade and an ohayashi music contest. On the main second day a sacred horse gallops through town, followed by the mikoshi procession and Yagibushi. The last day has children's and company mikoshi parades and a hand-clapping ceremony. Throughout, 7 floats roll along with drums and flutes, and the festival closes with a thanksgiving procession led by the float of the host district. Anyone of junior high school age or older can apply to help pull the floats.
